Deviation Actions
This is meant more for younger, newer deviants who have run into a spot of trouble making some extra cash,
I see many people posting how they make no money on their prints through DeviantArt.
To me, it just seems like all you need is a lesson in business.
First, before you do anything, realize what our "Target Audience" is.
Do you draw anime? Or do you take pictures of cute animals? Or are you into realism? Let's face it, you aren't going to find very many older people who enjoy fine art on the internet. Try and figure out what age group your work appeals to.
Second, use DeviantArt as your "Warehouse"
DeviantArt is great. You can showcase your products and then ship them to people without you doing anything. However it is an Art Community. In DeviantArt, you work is only shown to other artists, to get more money you have to use DeviantArt as your Warehouse. It will supply the customer, but you need to bring the customer to the site.
Deviantart is fairly appealing, but lets face it, many people in the real world haven't a clue. Which bring me to my next point...
Third, advertise yourself OUTSIDE of DeviantArt.
This is very easy if you draw anime or furries and such. Why? You can find fanfiction sites, forums, ect and offer on the site to draw people's OCs for money. refer them to your DeviantArt page and viola! Many people make the mistake of just trying to advertise on DeviantArt, but like I said, if you advertise on here, you are only advertising to artists, not the general public.
If you are like me and take pictures or make crafts or have more refined art, have no fear. Simple showcase your work...In real life! Local fairs that have an art section, craft fairs, art shows, showcases in schools are usually very abundant in any setting. You can buy your own prints off DeviantArt and show them off, or print cheaper copies of your work at a local print store.
However, like I said earlier, keep your audience in mind. If you take cutesy pictures, your audience is probably a range from Children to Young Adults. Try to go to where they would be.
Last point, this doesn't concern Deviantart, but, people who are good at drawing or taking pictures may offer cheap summer courses for children at a Recreation Center in a nearby town for money. If you are also into crafts, this is also a good way to make money. Also, after teaching, you may have effectively advertised yourself to your community, by the adults seeing your work.
You may also provide services. If you are a young artist, offer to paint mural or decorate rooms, such as painting pictures in a baby room in someone's house or if you an experienced photographer, offer your service.
So that is all. My point is people try to use DeviantArt as an advertising tool when it advertises to more artists. Use DeviantArt as a supplier/portfolio, recommend people to visit you on here and explain to them how they can buy. If your audience is too young to order online, take matters into your own hands and print the pictures yourself in a print store or off DeviantArt and sell them at shows.
DeviantArt will do the supplying, but it's up to you to be the "Salesman".

Lack of Updates
So sorry for lack of updates. Also sorry if I don't respond to my inbox, it's been funky and I've only been popping in DeviantArt.
Anyways, I have a small break soon and my birthday and Spring break coming around the corner, so I'll be very active one week and gone the next until summer.
However, if anyone wants a request for a picture of my mice, I will do it promptly :)
See you all around!
New mouse and HOLY JEEZE.
First, I own mice, not rats are hamsters. Don't be offended if I correct you, but I indeed have Mice for all of you who were wondering.
Holy jeeze:
Oh my god.
Thank you guys so much! :la:
I came back from the pet store for the first time all day and I see 300+ messages and I think to myself "Oh it's just from my groups that I watch" only to find out, almost all of them were from feedback messages.
I can't thank you guys enough, this is big for me since like, nobody knows me. I was so excited to see myself in the most popular in 24 hours part. I am sorry if you never get a thank you or a llama, I am drowning in usernames.
New Mouse: This
New Camera (FINALLY.) but.Zoey is...
SO I got my new camera; hooray! A shiny new Nikon D80 is standing proudly on my tripod and I am getting the lens this afternoon.
However Zoey is gone. Yesterday I didn't see her around and I just thought she was sleeping in during the day so I paid no mind. Today I went to bring my mice to their present and I couldn't find Zoey. I dissected the cage and no sign of her. I checked my entire room and not a trace. I have no idea if she escaped, if a cat got her, if Harley got her, or anything. I am trying very desperately to find her.
However, animals when they know they are going to die sometimes leave their home and just find somewhere else t
I am not dead.
~slowpokeplz (https://www.deviantart.com/slowpokeplz) :iconsaysplz: Thanks for the 3,000 views guiz.
Anyways, no, I am NOT DEAD.
El problemo:
My point and shoot sucks.
It keeps taking SUPER grainy photos.
Solution:
I buy a Nikon D90, and I already have a super Macro Lens for it. (Or maybe a Nikon D3000)
Other Problem: I'm not getting it until Christmas. :iconcryforeverplz:
Since I do not keep wanting to shove bad photos down your throats, I am waiting until Christmas when I can take good photos, also these should have a MUCH better quality.
Please do not hate me. My miceys are doing fine and I promise there will be more photos for the holidays.
